Tokyo, Japan 8D7N Day One: Delta Flight, Tokyo Station - Standing Sushi Bar, Calbee+, Ginza

Finally here comes my Tokyo Blog, after like a whole term has passed I am finally slowly editing my Tokyo photos one by one and coming up with my posts. Trying to clear as many posts as possible before heading over to China.

We booked the flight for Tokyo in January and Delta Airlines’ price is really a good deal ! Would totally recommend anyone flying to Tokyo to check Delta out. Not many people know about delta but I took delta when I had gone to the states a few years back and it isn’t bad ! The Tokyo flight is usually a transit flight for those flying to the US. We got our tickets at $480 if I am not wrong which is really cheap considering the fact that if you were to fly on a budget airline there it would have cost around the same price not including all your baggage costs and all and there wouldn’t be any entertainment system nor meals served like on Delta.

The flights Delta offers for Tokyo are usually the ones which depart around 8am and arriving at 2pm or something. Which is actually pretty good timing as you most probably cant check in till 3pm at most places.

They served some breakfast where I got the one with eggs and the eggs were so good. Those white cubes are like cheese and they taste so damn good.

They also served some cake and sandwich half way through the flight and Evian bottles were provided on the flight before you land which is really awesome !

Got our bus tickets to the city from the counter when u exit the arrival gates and the bus stops are located outside the airport doors. There is WiFi in the airport so no worries if you got to wait a long time for the bus. Tokyo tower spotted on the way to Tokyo Station from Narita Airport !

We booked an Airbnb for our trip as this was a family trip which meant like 8 people and 2 additional cousins tagging along so Airbnb was totally the cheapest option. We got one that is located “near” Tokyo station and much nearer to Kayabacho Station.

We alighted from our bus at Tokyo station and had to navigate our way to our Airbnb. Didn’t take photos of our Airbnb as it was messed up soon and the amount of luggages we have is just an overload for the place as it was really tiny. But we had to just deal with it.

Headed out to Tokyo station for our early dinner. So many choices there that we split up for food and I went ahead with the Standing Sushi Bar. Where you really had to just stand there and eat the sushi. We ordered the set meal without exactly knowing what it comprises of but we just ate it and it was really good. The wasabi is also in like powder form which is really special and warm towels were handed out as soon as you settle in your spot.

There is a mini moomin store located in Tokyo station but the stuff was so expensive and honestly I wouldn’t use them so I didn’t manage to buy anything from there.

Other character shops spotted too !! Didn't manage to fine pinkku pinkku in the rilakkuma store :-(

Passed tower records and went in to try see what albums they had but they had very little of a selection and still considered quite pricey.

Passed the Pokemon store and of course my brothers stayed inside that shop for like almost half an hour deciding on what to get.

Really cute gudetama snacks I came across but not sure how it tastes – aesthetically pleasing but not sure if it is same on the taste.

Dropped by the Calbee+ store which is near the Standing Sushi Bar and got ourselves three different kinds of chips – cheese, chocolate with ice cream and butter salt I think! They fry the chips on the spot so it is really fresh. You can also choose what kind of chips you would like as calbee has the jagged ones and the normal chips. The ice cream is a real must buy ! It is so milky and yummy. Still craving for that ice cream

Headed over to the “supermarket” area and I was really thirsty so I got the strawberry milkshake and it was really expensive omg. But really tasty ;;

Went over to convenience stores to check out what they had and got a strawberry milk which was really nice

Decided to last minute visit uniqlo after we went back to the Airbnb as I wanted to get Disney tees to wear to Disneyland for the next day. Realised the nearest one to us would be a train ride down to Ginza. Where we realised that is the biggest Uniqlo if I am not wrong.

It totalled like 12 levels I think ! We were trying to make it before it closed so I didn’t take any photos but the entire place was aesthetic af. Even the lift was like a full white.
